Charity Support

The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre

TWODS is pleased to be supporting the Pickering Cancer drop-in Centre as one of it's chosen local charities.

All surplus funds generated by TWODS are distributed to local charities. In addition to giving financial support TWODS also provide a significant number of tickets free of charge to each show for charities use.

The Bridge Trust was formally registered as a charity in October 1991. Since that time they have received nearly 6,000 referrals and in their own houses they have accommodated over 850 people.

The Bridge Trust is a story of caring, compassion, dedication and determination. It is a story that is underpinned by the firm belief that everyone in our country is entitled to adequate and stable accommodation as a basic right. Their mission is to provide a bridge from homelessness to independent living for single homeless adults.

‘5% of homeless people sleep rough. The other 95% are ‘hidden homeless’ staying wherever they can and with no permanent, secure and safe place to live’.

‘30% who are homeless are the young. Their parents, guardians or friends are either unable or unwilling to keep them at home anymore.’

The money collected from the generous audiences who come to see TWODS production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ - £1,000.00 – will be used to fund the support services provided by the Trust.

This is what John Handley, the General Manager of the Trust, based in Tonbridge, said about the donation ‘This is a magnificent sum and will help us enormously in these difficult times’.
